Saipem, Aramco enter provisional EPC agreement

Saipem and Saudi Aramco have signed an MOU on creating a new entity in Saudi Arabia responsible for engineering and construction activities in the industrial sector.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy Saipem and Saudi Aramco have signed a memorandum of understanding on creating a new entity in Saudi Arabia responsible for engineering and construction activities in the industrial sector.

The initiative falls under Aramco’s Nama’at Investment Industrial Program, which targets developing capacity in sustainability, technology, industrial, and advanced materials.

The agreement entails the potential creation, in partnership with local entities, of an ‘EPC National Champion’ capable of executing, In-Kingdom, the full range of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities maximizing employment of local resources.

Saipem has previously worked with Aramco on a wide range of offshore and onshore construction and drilling activities, with offshore and onshore rigs.
