Offshore staff
PERTH, Australia — Chevron has contracted ABL Group to provide marine warranty survey services for the Jansz-Io compression project offshore Western Australia.
The development, part of the original plan for the Gorgon gas project, involves the construction and installation of a 27,000-metric-ton, normally unattended floating field control station, along with 6,500 metric tons of subsea compression infrastructure, in 1,350 m water depth.
A 135-km submarine cable will supply power from Barrow Island.
The subsea gas compression system should boost recovery of gas and maintain supplies to the processing facilities on Barrow Island.
ABL’s Australian operation will oversee the delivery of transportation and installation operations for four work packages related to the offshore installation; construction and marine transportation operation of the field control station and HV power and communication transmission system; and marine transportation of other project cargo.
The Perth operation will receive support from ABL offices in Asia and Europe.
