Offshore staff
PERTH, Australia — Woodside Energy has appointed ABL Group to provide marine warranty services for construction, transportation and installation work on the Scarborough gas development offshore Western Australia.
The project will involve drilling up to 13 subsea wells over the life of the Scarborough field and installation of a semisubmersible floating production unit (FPU), which will provide gas separation, dehydration and compression.
A new 430-km subsea pipeline will transport the dry gas from the FPU to the onshore Pluto LNG complex.
ABL’s Australian operation will provide marine warranty services support throughout the construction, transportation and installation operations phases including the FPU, SURF, mooring system and export trunkline packages.
Services also will be performed in China and other Southeast Asian and European locations. Work should continue through first-quarter 2025.
Woodside’s shareholders have voted to approve the proposed merger with BHP Group’s petroleum business (BHP is also a partner in Scarborough). Completion of the merger should now take place on June 1.
