Verus joins Chevron in North Sea Alba field

STAVANGER, Norway– Equinor has completed the sale of its 17% interest in the Chevron-operated Alba oil field in the UK central North Sea to Verus Petroleum.
This represented around 2,300 b/d of production last year.
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has authorized Equinor Energy to drill an exploration well in North Sea license PL 885, awarded in February 2017.
The semisubmersibleTransocean Spitsbergen will drill well 36/1-3 at a location around 40 km (25 mi) east of the Peon discovery.
