LONDON – Environmental specialists from BMT Cordah and Israel-based consultants Geo-Prospect have jointly assessed the impact of E&P operations offshore Israel.
Under the program offshore, commissioned by Israel’s Ministry of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources, Geo-Prospect was lead consultant for a strategic environment assessment (SEA) for offshore oil and natural gas exploration and extraction.
BMT identified and defined potential sources of environmental impact, based on operating criteria for offshore drilling and production in Israel, and also reviewed a habitats assessment performed by the Israel Oceanographic Limnological Research Institute.
Geo-Prospect used the results to draw up the SEA, said to be the first of its kind and designed to establish new standards for administering the country’s natural resources.
