Petrobras commissions Subsea7 for latest Búzios project offshore Brazil

Subsea7’s work scope covers engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of 112 km of rigid risers and flowlines.

Petrobras awarded Subsea7 a contract on May 2 valued at more than $1.25 billion for the Búzios 11 field development in the presalt Santos Basin.

The location is about 180 km from the coast of Rio de Janeiro State in 2,000 m water depth.

Subsea7’s work scope covers engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of 112 km of rigid risers and flowlines.

Project management and engineering will take place at the company’s offices in Rio de Janeiro, and Suresness and Sutton in the UK. Subsea7’s spoolbase in Brazil will fabricate the pipelines, with offshore construction scheduled for 2027 and 2028.
