Greenland hydrocarbon potential to be discussed at AAPG

NUUK, Greenland -- Greenland's Bureau of Minerals and Petroleum is outlining the hydrocarbon potential and the future license call for Northeast and
Northwest Greenland at the AAPG Annual Convention & Exhibition in Denver.

The meetings will cover the terms and conditions as well as the schedule for the planned licensing rounds offshore Northwest and Northeast Greenland.

These offshore areas have been part of a recent USGS assessment of the petroleum potential in the arctic region. The mean estimate for offshore areas northeast of Greenland is 31 Bboe, and 18 Bboe for offshore areas northwest of Greenland.

The Bureau will also present ongoing geological projects, environmental background studies, acquired geophysical data, latest ice data, and ongoing ice studies.
