TRIPOLI, Lebanon – The Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water has extended until Aug. 14, 2014, the deadline to submit the bids for Lebanon’s first offshore licensing round.

The extension was granted due to the Lebanese Cabinet’s delay in issuing decrees related to the delineation of the offshore blocks and the model exploration and production agreement.

Five ofLebanon’s 10 offshore blocks - 1, 4, 5, 6, and 9 - are open for bidding under the current round, and more could be added after the Cabinet session convened to ratify the delineation and E&P agreement decrees.
