Lukoil wins approval for Baltic Sea exploration

The Russian Federation government has granted OOO LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft rights to a block in the Baltic Sea.

MOSCOW– The Russian Federation government has granted OOO LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft rights to a block in the Baltic Sea.

Included in the acreage are the D29 and D41oil fields, Lukoil said.

The fields were discovered in 2015. Exploration wells were drilled with theArktichesksaya jackup from OOO Gazprom Flot.

Lukoil said that oil reserves are estimated as 2.126 million tons at D29 and 2.003 million tons at D41.

Earlier this month, Lukoil received rights to the D33 oil field, also in the Baltic, from the Russian government, the company reporting estimated oil reserves estimated at 21.2 million tons.
