Perenco starts up four-well Boatou development offshore Republic of Congo

PARIS, France — Perenco Congo has brought onstream four new wells on the Boatou concession offshore Republic of Congo and has also secured a new 20-year operating permit.

Elf Congo discovered the field in 1984 55 km from Pointe-Noire. Perenco Congo and its partners, SNPC, AOGC and PetroCongo, developed the field nearly four decades later, bringing four wells into production via a platform at a combined rate of 4,500 bbl/d and tying into infrastructure nearby at Likouala.

Perenco deployed more than 200 people from its geoscience, projects, drilling and production divisions for the development.
