Perenco Congo has commissioned a new platform, Kombi 2, for installation on the Kombi-Likalala-Libondo II (KLL II) permit offshore Congo.
The platform is under construction by Dixstone at the Nieuwdorp shipyard in the Netherlands. It is due to depart the yard in October and become operational in Pointe-Noire early next year.
Perenco estimates the overall investment, including forthcoming drilling phases, at more than $299 million.
The development should also recover an additional 10 MMboe of reserves through optimization of existing wells. An integrated wellbay module on the platform will accommodate the new wells.
Power will be generated using two gas turbines connected to a 33-kV electrical hub. Perenco is targeting added production of 7 MMcf/d.
The offshore infrastructure will integrate a well-bay module to accommodate new wells, with a potential of 10 million additional barrels.
Recently, the government confirmed the renewal of the Ikalou II and Likouala II permits, initially for 20 years. This will help support planned investments totaling almost $900 million, including workover campaigns, development drilling and the installation of new infrastructure.
