HOUSTON – VAALCO Energy expects to increase recovery from the Etame field offshore Gabon, following completion of a new development well from the field’s Avouma platform.
The Avouma 3H-ST well was drilled with a lateral of 268 m (879 ft) in Gamba sands at the top of the structure. Results confirmed an extension of the Avouma reservoir, and could lead to further wells being drilled in Avouma.
Currently the focus is on completion operations, with initial production anticipated in the next few weeks.
Next up will be the ETBSM-1HB ST2 development well, to be drilled from the Avouma platform.
