Saipem to service Coral FLNG offshore Mozambique

Coral FLNG has contracted Saipem to provide maintenance services for the Coral Sul FLNG facility.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Coral FLNG, a special purpose entity formed by Mozambique’s Offshore Area 4 partners, has contracted Saipem to provide maintenance services for the Coral Sul FLNG facility.

The vessel will produce natural gas from the offshore Rovuma basin, at a location 250 km (155 mi) northeast of Pemba and 50 km (31 mi) from the Mozambique coast.

It will be connected to subsea production infrastructure at a depth of around 2,000 m (6,562 ft).

Value of the nine-year contract is around $150 million. Saipem’s scope covers maintenance of the vessel, onboard supervision, and the creation of an onshore logistical base.

The Area 4 partners comprise Eni as operator, ExxonMobil, CNPC, GALP, KOGAS and ENH.
