Eni Congo has inaugurated its new Yasika logistics platform on Saipem’s base at the port of Pointe-Noire.

The new base is designed to ensure efficient delivery of equipment, materials and personnel to onshore and offshore facilities, Eni added.

It will also support the Congo LNG project through assisting development of the remaining gas potential of the Marine XII permit.

The base serves operations for the 0.6 MMt/year Tango FLNG, which started production in December 2023, and the 2.4 MMt/year Nguya FLNG (2.4 mtpa), due to start operations offshore by the end of this year.

Yasika will also support construction of new installations, interconnection of existing infrastructure, and modernization of facilities such as the Litchendjili complex.

The base covers a total area of nearly 190,000 sq m, with a 285-m-long quay, 1,000 sq m of office space, 16,000 sq m of covered areas and technical workshops, a jetty dedicated to marine transport rotations, and a 1,100-sq-m treatment unit for muds and cements for drilling activities.

Yasika will also enable fabrication locally of the Midwater Arch structures MWA1 and MWA2, used for hydrocarbon transport as part of the Congo LNG project.
