Guyana confirms PSC for offshore Block S4 with TotalEnergies-led consortium
TotalEnergies, in partnership with QatarEnergy and Petronas, has signed a production sharing contract (PSC) for Block S4 with Guyana’s Ministry of National.
The block had been awarded in 2023 under Guyana’s 2022 Licensing Round.
It extends over a 1,788-sq-km area, about 50-100 km from the shore. According to Petronas, it is located along favorable hydrocarbon migration pathways. This is also the company’s first venture into exploration offshore Guyana, building on its various blocks and discoveries offshore neighboring Suriname.
The initial work program calls for acquisition of 2,000 sq km of 3D seismic.
