Wood-to-Montrose tieback onstream

ABERDEEN, UK --Talisman North Sea has brought onstream the Wood field in UK central block 22/18.

Wood has been tied back to the Montrose platform, 6 mi (9.65 km) to the northwest, and should produce at peak 6,000 b/d of oil and 16 MMcf/d of gas.

Last year, Talisman installed the Wood and Gas Export module on the platform. This was designed to allow gas from Wood, and 9 MMcf/d from the Montrose, Arbroath, Arkwright, and Brechin fields to be processed on the platform for sale.

Gas is exported through a new 6-in. (15.24-cm) pipeline connecting to the Central Area Transmission System, taking supplies from fields in the area to Teesside, northeast England. Wood's oil is commingled with production from the MonArb fields and exported via the Forties pipeline system to Cruden Bay, Scotland.
