Golar, Schlumberger FLNG agreement remains solid

HAMILTON, BermudaSchlumberger’s withdrawal from Ophir’s Fortuna FLNG project offshore Equatorial Guinea will not affect its framework agreement with Golar.

A statement by the two companies reaffirmed that their target is to develop integrated solutions for stranded gas assets.

Joint efforts over the past few months, they add, have underlined the commercial attraction and technical viability of theFLNG concept as a solution for fasttrack monetization of stranded gas.

Golar will continue to work with Ophir on reaching a final investment decision for the Fortuna development this year.
