Weizhou wellhead platform delivers first oil offshore China

CNOOC has started production from the Weizhou 6-9/6-10 comprehensive adjustment project in the South China Sea.

HONG KONG – CNOOC has started production from the Weizhou 6-9/6-10 comprehensive adjustment project in the South China Sea.

TheWeizhou 6-9/6-10 oilfield is in the Beibu Gulf in an average water depth of 35 m (115 ft). CNOOC added a new wellhead platform linked to the field’s existing facilities.

Currently one well is producing around 850 b/d of crude oil. The adjustment project is expected to reach its designed peak production of 3,800 b/d during 2018.
