OSLO, Norway — BW Energy has started production from the third well of the Hibiscus/Ruche Phase 1 development in the Dussafu license offshore Gabon.
The Borr Norve jackup drilled DHIBM-5H as a horizontal well from the BW MaBoMo production facility in 116 m of water and to a total depth of 4,245 m in the Gamba sandstone reservoir at the Hibiscus Field. It is producing about 6,000 bbl/d of oil.
The Borr Norve rig has since spudded the fourth planned production well on Hibiscus, DHIBM-6H. In total the partners have commissioned six new producers on the Hibiscus and Ruche fields with a view to lifting production to 40,000 bbl/d.
Following completion, the Borr Norve jackup has commenced drilling operations on the fourth production well (DHIBM-6H).
"We continue to see robust production rates and receive well data that confirms excellent reservoir quality,” said BW Energy CEO Carl Krogh Arnet.
Produced oil is transported by pipeline to the BW Adolo FPSO for processing and storage before offloading to export tankers.
