CNOOC brings two oil projects onstream

CNOOC Ltd. has started production from the Caofeidian 11-6 oil field expansion project and the Kenli 16-1 oil field.

HONG KONG CNOOC Ltd. has started production from the Caofeidian 11-6 oil field expansion project and Kenli 16-1 oil field offshore China.

The Caofeidian 11-6 oil field expansion project is in the western Bohai Sea. A new unmanned wellhead platform, in 23 m (75 ft) of water, is connected to the processing facilities serving the Caofeidian 11-6 oil field.

The company plans to drill seven production wells and two water injection wells. It anticipates peak oil production of about 4,600 b/d this year.

The Kenli 16-1 oil field is in the southern Bohai Sea. A new unmanned wellhead platform, in 15 m (49 ft) of water, is connected to the processing facilities serving the Kenli 10-1 oil field.

CNOOC plans to drill 16 production wells and seven water injection wells. The company anticipates peak oil production of about 7,500 b/d in 2022.
