HOUSTONEquinor has awarded Wood a contract extension to deliver maintenance solutions across the Peregrino wellhead platforms (WHP) and FPSO unit offshore Brazil.

This is the third one-year extension awarded to the company. The initial contract was secured in 2015 as a four-year commitment with four additional one-year options to extend.

Wood’s core team, consisting of about 140 people, will continue to provide maintenance solutions to optimize the assets. As Wood executes Equinor’s upcoming major Technical Condition Upgrade Project on the Peregrino assets, an additional 500 people will be mobilized.

Peregrino is a heavy oil field in licenses BM-C-7 and BM-C-47, 85 km (52.8 mi) offshore in the Campos basin, in water depths of 100 m (328 ft).

Equinor operates and holds 60% interest in the Peregrino field. Sinochem holds the remaining 40%.
