ABERDEEN, UK — Equinor UK has awarded Wood a two-year extension to its contract to support operations at the heavy-oil Mariner Field in the UK northern North Sea.

Wood will continue to provide operations, maintenance, modifications and offshore services on the Mariner A platform and Mariner B FSU, along with front-end concept and feasibility studies, detailed design, construction and commissioning services for future projects.

In addition, Equinor will continue to apply Wood’s digital services to optimize efficiency across Mariner’s operations.

The field, 150 km east of the Shetland Islands, could produce more than 300 MMbbl over the next 30 years, contributing toward reliable energy supply and security.
