SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Eni has started production from the deepwater Cabaça North oil field in block 15/06 offshore Angola, through the Armada Olombendo FPSO.
The Cabaça North development in the eastern area of the block is expected to have a peak production rate of 15,000 b/d of oil. It is expected to increase and sustain the plateau production of the Armada Olombendo, a zero-discharge, zero-process flaring FPSO with an overall capacity of 100,000 b/d.
This is the second start-up achieved by Eni Angola in 2021. The Cuica oil field started production in July. The Ndungu oil field in the western area of block 15/06 is expected to start-up in the next few months.
The Block 15/06 Joint Venture consists of Eni (operator, 36.84%), Sonangol P&P (36.84%), and SSI Fifteen Ltd. (26.32%).
