THE HAGUE, the NetherlandsTulip Oil has shut down production temporarily from its Q10-A gas field in the Dutch North Sea to allow for planned maintenance of the neighboring P15 platform.

Previously the company had curbed output in response to low gas prices.

However, the company is looking to increase production capacity in the current quarter through activating third-party-owned compression facilities.

In addition, it is preparing to add two production wells in the Q10-A field via a completion of an unfinished well and a side track, and is considering field life extension options through long-term opex cuts and reserves additions.

The company said it was maturing new drilling targets, mainly to appraise reservoirs near the field. The reservoirs have flowed gas to surface during previous drilling campaigns, similar to Q10 prior to the 2015 discovery well.
