THE HAGUE, the Netherlands – Tulip Oil has raised gas production from the Q10a field in the Dutch North Sea following the introduction of compression last November.

The field produced 526 MMcm of gas during 2020, down from 620 MMcm the previous year. Some production was purposely constrained in response to low gas prices.

Five wells are currently producing, and a final investment decision has been taken on one unfinished well from a previous drilling campaign, and one additional side track.

Tulip management are negotiating for a rig to start drilling later this year. Potentially the company could also drill on two discovered gas fields close to Q10a.

Production capacity should rise following start-up of wells Q10-A04 and Q10-A06.
