THE HAGUE, the Netherlands – Tulip Oil Netherlands has issued an update on its Q10-A gas field development, 20 km (12.4 mi) offshore in the Dutch North Sea.

Production was shut in until Oct. 13 to allow for scheduled maintenance of the nearby P15 platform. Since November, output has improved due to successful deployment of the available compression facilities on P15.

During 4Q 2020, Q10-A produced 142 MMcm of gas, up from 59 MMcm in 3Q.

Tulip has committed to one completion of an unfinished well and one side track, with the goal of boosting production from Q10-A from H2 2021 onwards.

It is assessing an additional, temporary appraisal side track to test productivity of the proven Vlieland oil formation in the Q7/Q10a license.

The company is assessing rig availability for drilling on two discovered gas fields close to Q10-A field, the target reservoirs having previously flowed gas to surface. Each field has a completed development plan which follows the same approach as the low capex appraisal/development of Q10-A.

The Q10-A field, in 21 m (69 ft) water depth, produces through a six-slot, unmanned platform. Gas is exported through a 42-km (26-mi) pipeline to the P15d platform for subsequent transport to shore.
