LYSAKER, Norway Aker Solutions has an EPCI contract covering integration of a high-voltage electrical boiler package at Lundin Energy’s Edvard Grieg platform in the Norwegian North Sea.

The electrical boilers will replace gas turbines that currently generate heat on the facility, making it a fully-electrified platform.

All heating and power needs will come from the Utsira High power-shore cable link by 2022, reducing annual CO2 emissions by around 200,000 metric tons (220,462 tons).

Aker Solutions will employ more than 50 staff on the project at its sites in Fornebu, Stavanger, and Egersund.

Edvard Grieg is around 180 km (112 mi) west of Stavanger.
