Husky details offshore start-ups and shutdowns in 2020

CALGARY, CanadaHusky Energy expects to achieve first production from the Liuhua 29-1 field offshore China by the end of next year, the company revealed in its 2020 capex forecast.

The partners are targeting production of 45 MMcf/d of gas and 1,800 b/d of liquids.

Husky added that the West White Rose project offshore Newfoundland is around 55% complete with first oil planned around the end of 2022.

Next year the company anticipates maintenance shutdowns of two weeks at the Liwan gas project during 2Q; four weeks in total at the BD project offshore Indonesia; three weeks in 3Q at the SeaRose FPSO; and six to seven months off station at the Terra Nova FPSO (both off Newfoundland).

Another Canadian oil company, Suncor Energy, will allocate $1.1 billion next year to previously sanctioned E&P step-out developments, including the Terra Nova asset life extension.
