SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Saipem has developed Liqueflex, a new technology for small- and medium-scale gas liquefaction plants.
The process has been designed for a productive capacity ranging from 200,000 to 1.2 MM metric tons/yr (220,462 to 1.32 MM tons), and is said to be suitable for floating and offshore facilities.
It does not require the use of hydrocarbon liquid refrigerants, thereby reducing associated safety issues, Saipem said. In addition, the compact plant can be adapted to handle variations in the composition of natural gas.
