ABERDEEN, UK – Metragaz has contracted RWG to provide exchange, overhaul, installation and recommissioning services to maintain the company’s fleet of Siemens SGT-A35 (Industrial RB211) aero-derivative gas generators.
The company operates from two locations in Morocco, providing gas compression services for the Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline which transports gas from Algeria via Morocco across the Mediterranean Sea to Spain and Portugal.
Kamal Daoudi, director of maintenance for Metragaz, said: “We operate continuously, therefore need to have confidence that our equipment is available at all times. It has also been challenging to build major maintenance events into our schedule due to the downtime we experience on site…”
RWG’s contract runs initially for three years. During this period, it will build, configure, and transport exchange gas generators to Metragaz ahead of each scheduled overhaul, reducing the operational downtime in Morocco.
In addition, it will provide field service support to install and recommission each generator, returning time-expired equipment to its service center in Aberdeen for overhaul.
