LAGOS, Nigeria – Continuous production has started from the Otakikpo marginal field in the OML 11 license in Nigeria, according to technical and financial partner Lekoil.

This follows completion and commissioning of the 6-km (3.7-mi) offshore pipeline from the storage tanks to the tanker offloading manifold.

All onshore facilities and the offshore pipeline have also been signed off by the regulators.

Initial production from the four production strings across both the Otakikpo-002 and -003 wells is around 5,000 b/d, with ramp-up to 10,000 b/d anticipated by mid-year.

Lekoil CEO Lekan Akinyanmi said: “TheOtakikpo project began in a swamp location with no infrastructure and our team delivered production in under two years…”

Green Energy International is the project operator.
