KASSEL, GermanyWintershall Norge is scaling back its interests in the Norwegian Sea.

The company has agreed to sell its 13.2550% stake in the Polarled gas pipeline in the Norwegian Sea to Solveig Gas Norway, and its 5.0304 % share of the Nyhamna processing terminal on Norway’s west coast to CapeOmega.

Parent company Wintershall Dea has been looking to slim down parts of its global portfolio, following the merger earlier this year between Wintershall and DEA.

However, the Norwegian subsidiary will continue to hold interests in more than 100 licenses. At year-end 2018, Norway accounted for 23.8% (140 MMboe/d) of the group’s total production of 590 MMboe/d.

Currently the company is developing the Dvalin and Nova fields, and is a partner in the Njord re-development and the Ærfugl and Snorre Expansion projects.
