LONDON, UK --Canamens (UK) is entering the North Sea, acquiring a 25% interest in UK block 9/2b, operated by Nautical Petroleum. Canamens also is funding a proportionate share in the Kraken appraisal well in the block, which started drilling in late October.

Kraken was discovered in 1987. This is Nautical's first operated well, and the results should be issued by the end of this month.

Under a separate transaction, Nautical has increased its interest in UK block 3/27a from 45% to 70%, through buying 100% of the share capital of co-license UAH from parent company IEG AG. The partners recently completed a seismic survey over this block; data processing should be completed early next year.
