Islamabad -- Pakistan awarded BP Pakistan three blocks offshore Indus Delta. Blocks U, V, and W cover 21,000 sq km.
In addition to exploration, BP gets the right to operate any commercially viable oil or gas discoveries.
"The offshore Indus Delta is a very exciting prospect for us, with a geology that our experience tells us has a strong potential for containing hydrocarbons resources," says Tariq Khamisani, president, BP Pakistan.
