Geoquip analyzes seabed conditions at two North Sea wind sites

Geoquip Marine has concluded a preliminary geotechnical site investigation for two 4-GW offshore wind projects in the German North Sea.

The developer will use the results to support the next phase of design for the two development sites.

Geoquip drilled 28 boreholes across the sites to analyse the seafloor’s suitability for turbine foundation, taking soil samples and conducting seismic site monitoring to inform the engineering parameters in depths of 40 m.

The Dina Polaris vessel was equipped with geotechnical drilling, sampling, testing equipment and an offshore laboratory for the program.
