MMS releases GoM, Atlantic outer shelves seismic data

Minerals Management Service has released seismic navigation, maps, and line images from the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Outer Continental Shelves.

(New Orleans)– Minerals Management Service has released seismic navigation, maps, and line images from the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Outer Continental Shelves.

The release has information from seismic surveys permitted by MMS in 1976 through 1980. The CD-ROM's for the 2003, 2004, and 2005 release dates include:

• Atlantic OCS North, Mid, and South Atlantic seismic navigation, seismic maps, and line images from seismic films, RECD03-1 through RECD03-7, RECD05-1 through RECD05-4.
• Gulf of Mexico OCS – Texas, Louisiana, and combined Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida seismic navigation, seismic maps, and line images from seismic films and workstation displays, RECD03-8 through RECD03-13, RECD04-1, RECD05-5 through RECD05-7.
• RECD05-8, maps showing the seismic coverage for each CD-ROM for the 2003, 2004, and 2005 release.

Regulations require that geophysical information acquired under OCS permit shall be released 25 years after permit issue date.

The images on the CD-ROM's are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format and are available in TIFF format upon request. The CD-data can be ordered on the GOM Region Web site (www.gomr.mms.gov) or from Public Information at $15. each, call 800-200-GULF (4853.)
