Caspian consortium to manage Absheron subsea engineering

Total has awarded a consortium of Saipem Contracting Netherlands, Boshelf LLC, and STAR GULF FZCO a SURF contract for the Absheron field development in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Total has awarded a consortium of Saipem Contracting Netherlands, Boshelf LLC, and STAR GULF FZCO a SURF contract for the Absheron field development in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea.

JOCAP, a joint venture between Total and SOCAR, operates the field: water depths in the license area range from 10-500 m (33-1,640 ft).

The work scope includes engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore installation, and supporting commissioning and performance testing of a single 12-in. production flowline and its flowline end termination structure and a main umbilical, both around 34 km (21 mi) in length.

Elsewhere, Humberside Gathering System, on behalf of the Tolmount development partners Premier Oil and Dana Petroleum, has awarded Saipem an EPCI contract for the pipeline system for the Tolmount Main gas field in the UK southern North Sea.

Offshore Republic of Congo, Eni has granted Saipem subsidiary Boscongo a 36-month modification, maintenance and operations contract.

The scope of work, which covers all Eni’s offshore sites in the Republic, includes on-site troubleshooting, planned and unplanned maintenance and the supply of spare parts, materials, and workshop activities from the Boscongo yard in Pointe Noire.

Total value of the three assignments is around $400 million.
