LONDON – The joint venture between Petrofac and SOCAR has won a new $25-million support contract for bp’s Azeri Central East (ACE) project in the Caspian Sea.

Scope of work includes providing commissioning technicians and other specialist personnel, and mobilization/associated services for the project at offshore and onshore sites in Azerbaijan.

ACE is the latest development phase of the Azeri, Chirag and Deepwater Gunashli contract area, designed to produce up to 100,000 b/d of oil, with start-up expected in 2023.

In the UK central North Sea, EnQuest has extended Petrofac’s supporting role for the Kittiwake platform by a year.

The company will continue as Duty Holder, a function it has performed for EnQuest since 2014 and from 2003 for the platform’s previous owner.

Nick Shorten, COO of Petrofac’s Engineering and Production Services business, said: “We look forward to building on these efforts over the coming year through the successful completion of a number of planned subsea campaigns, which will maximize production volumes.”
