Second South Pars phases 22-24 platform taking shape offshore Iran

Installation is under way of the second offshore platform for phases 22 to 24 of the South Pars gas field development in the Persian Gulf.

TEHRAN, Iran – The second offshore platform is undergoing installation for phases 22 to 24 of the South Pars gas field development in the Persian Gulf.

Farshad Heidari, head of the project’s offshore section at Pars Oil and Gas Co., told news service Shana thatplatform 24A was being prepared for pre-startup, and that installation of the platform’s flare and connecting bridge would finish by the end of the week.

Eleven wells have been drilled from the platform, and once a further seven wells have been completed, production of gas should be ready to flow from the facility.

He also expected platform 24A for the same project to be ready for loading by mid-June.

Installation of the first platform for phases 22 to 24 of South Pars gas field was completed late last month.

Sadra and Petro Sina Arya Oil & Gas Co. are developing phases 22 to 24 to produce 56 MMcm/d of sour gas, 50 MMcm/d of methane, 2,900 t/day of LPG, 75,000 b/d of gas condensate, and 400 t/d of sulfer.
