Marathon assigns Bøyla field development EPIC to Technip

Marathon Oil Norge AS has awarded Technip (Paris:TEC) an engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning contract of €300 million ($381 million) for the Bøyla field development offshore Norway.

PARIS –Marathon Oil Norge AS has awarded Technip (Paris:TEC) an engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning contract of €300 million ($381 million) for the Bøyla field development offshore Norway.
The contract includes construction of thesubsea system for field development and connection to the existing Alvheim facilities 28 km (17 mi) distant.
Work includes fabrication and reeled installation of a pipe-in-pipe production flowline, a plastic-lined water injection flowline and a gas lift flowline, fabrication and installation of rigid spools, manufacturing and installation of flexible jumpers and umbilicals, tie-in by divers, trenching, rock dumping, and make- ready for operations.
Technip’s operating center in Oslo, Norway, will execute the contract. Offshore construction will take place in 2014 with several vessels from Technip’s fleet, including theDeep Energy and the Skandi Arctic.
