OSLO, Norway – Marathon Oil Norge has contracted Aker Subsea for a subsea production system for the Bøyla field development in the Norwegian North Sea.

The contract value is around NOK 210 million ($35 million). Aker’s scope includes engineering, procurement, construction and delivery of four subsea trees, four over-trawlable subsea structures, and control systems.

Bøyla, which is in a water depth of 120 m (393 ft), will be tied back to the Alvheim FPSO to the northeast.

Engineering and manufacturing of the subsea trees will mainly be performed at Aker Solutions’ technology center in Tranby, Norway. The company’s base in Fornebu will manage engineering of the over-trawlable structures.

The subsea control systems will be delivered from Aberdeen, UK. Installation and commissioning will be handled by Aker Solutions’ service base at Aagotnes, Norway. Final deliveries are due early in 2013.
