ZWIJNDRECHT, the Netherlands – Orange-Nassau Energi has commissioned Heerema Zwijndrecht to procure and construct a topsides and jacket for an unmanned satellite platform serving the P11-E field in the Dutch North Sea.
This will be operated from a central station on the Dutch coast. It will feature a helideck to fly in crews for maintenance or an emergency; solar panels and wind turbines will make the platform self-sufficient in electricity generation.
The 31 x 25-m (102 x 82-ft) topsides will be 13 m (42 ft) high and weigh 500 metric tons (551 tons). The supporting 49-m (161-ft) tall jacket will occupy a foot print of 20 x 20 m (65 x 65 ft) and weigh roughly 1,000 metric tons (1,102 tons), with the main risers going through the main legs.
First steel will be cut on Sept. 1, with sailaway set for end-April 2016.
The P11-E platform will process gas from the P11-E field, 55 km (34 mi) northwest of Rotterdam harbor. Produced gas and condensate will be exported via a pipeline to the P15-D platform for treatment prior to further export.
