ESBJERG, Denmark – The new utility and living quarters for the Tyra field redevelopment in the Danish North Sea has departed from Rosetti Marino’s Piomboni yard in Ravenna, Italy.

The seven-deck 5,400-t, 32.5-m (107-ft) high module is sailing onboard Heerema Marine Contractors’ Barge H-408 on a 5,800-km (3,604-mi) journey.

On arrival at the Tyra field, Heerema’s Sleipnir crane vessel will perform the installation.

The Tyra II ULQ is one of five remaining modules – including the processing module and three Tyra West wellhead and riser modules – to be installed and powered up before operator TotalEnergies can switch the gas field back onstream in 2023.

All firewater and emergency power on Tyra II will be supplied from the UKQ, which will also house two emergency generators generating 3.2 MW, if they run for a year.

The fire water pumps can deliver 8,250 cu m/hr (291,346 cu ft) of water, while the water system can convert up to 200 liters/d of seawater into fresh water per person.

Other features are a canteen, laundry facilities, a hospital, 80 single rooms, an outdoor terrace, and recreational areas equipped with a sauna and gym.
