NORTH SYDNEY, Australia – Ithaca Energy has awarded Worley a two-year contract to provide engineering and procurement services to the Captain field development in the UK central North Sea.
Captain produces heavy crude from various reservoirs. Ithaca and previous operator Chevron have applied polymer injection technology to extend production.
Worley’s scope covers Stage 2 of the Captain enhanced oil recovery project with the company completing the engineering design and procurement of the associated equipment packages.
Last year the company finished the front-end engineering and design for Stage 2, having earlier supported topsides modifications for Stage 1.
Worley’s Aberdeen office will manage the current program, supported by the company’s integrated delivery team in Hyderabad, India.
