Masirah Oil begins offshore infill drilling campaign at Yumna Field

The first well in the offshore Yumna Field infill program is now underway, with production expected to begin next month.

Why this news matters:

  • The infill drilling program could help sustain or increase production from the mature Yumna Field.

  • Production from the new well is expected to begin in November, providing a near-term output uplift.

  • The campaign underscores continued investment in offshore Oman's Block 50 acreage.

Masirah Oil Ltd. (MOL) has started operations on the first well in its 2026 infill drilling campaign at the offshore Yumna Field in Oman.

The Yumna Field, located in Block 50 offshore Oman, has been producing since 2020 and is the sole producing asset within the block. The field is developed via an unmanned offshore platform tied back to a floating storage and offloading vessel.

The well is designed to access additional reserves and support continued production from the Yumna Field.

According to the company, production from the new well is expected to begin in November 2026. General Manager Mike Hopkinson said the campaign is aimed at bringing additional production online from the field.

MOL, an indirect 87.5%-owned subsidiary of Jasmine Energy Ltd., is the operator of Block 50 and holds a 100% interest in the block.
