Valeura Energy has completed an eight-well drilling campaign on the B5/27 license in the Gulf of Thailand.
This comprised:
Two development wells from the Jasmine C platform with greater oil pay than anticipated. Both are now online as producers.
Three wells from the Ban Yen A platform. Two that were primarily development wells also exceeded expectations and are online.
Two deviated development wells from the Jasmine D platform, again now online and in production. One encountered oil in its secondary 680 sand target, which will be developed via an additional well in a future development campaign.
The Ratree exploration well intersected the target sand reservoirs but only found traces of hydrocarbons. It appears that oil did not migrate to this reservoir trend, leading to insufficient hydrocarbon charge.
Valeura will assess other exploration-prospective trends within the B5/27 Block.
The contracted rig has since transferred to the Nong Yao Field to drill about 10 development wells.
