Ashgabad, Turkmenistan --Dragon Oil has contracted Continental Industrial Supply (CIS) to refurbish and operate Rig 40, Dragon's platform-based drilling rig.

Refurbishment and mobilization to the LAM 13 platform, in the Cheleken Contract Area of the Caspian Sea, should take around six months. Once the rig is ready for offshore operations, CIS – an experienced operator in the Turkmen sector – will manage drilling for an initially contracted period of two years.

Dragon plans to use the rig for a series of development wells on the LAM field. The platform itself has been upgraded to accommodate additional drilling slots.
