QUEENSLAND, Australia -- Operator Origin Energy is preparing to sidetrack the Rockhopper 1 well in the Bass basin, offshore Tasmania.
The sidetrack aims to appraise previously encountered hydrocarbons by intersecting the main reservoir sections approximately 1.3 km (0.8 mi) south and down-dip from penetration in Rockhopper 1. It will also help assess oil and gas volumes.
