LIMA, Peru -- Gold Oil Plc. completed its exploration well San Alberto-1X offshore Peru in San Pedro field. The well logged potential hydrocarbon bearing sands.
Drilling was stopped at 5,113 ft rather than the planned 6,500 ft due to technical difficulties. Some 250 ft of potentially hydrocarbon bearing Paleozoic sand, most of it below 4,570 ft, was encountered.
Once the Paleozoic sand testing is complete, the shallower Verdun sands will be tested.
