LONDONPremier Oil says the first appraisal well on the Zama field in Mexico’s offshore block 7 well has encountered the main Zama reservoir and is currently drilling ahead as planned.

Zama-2, spud at the end of November to the north of the discovery well, should determine the depth of the oil/water contact. The well will then be deepened to test the Marte prospect and finally side tracked up-dip and flow tested.

Thereafter, the rig will drill the Zama-3 appraisal well to the south, with the program set to be completed during 3Q.

This spring, Premier expects 3D seismic acquisition to get under way across offshore block 30, awarded last March under Mexico’s Round 3.1 in March.

The concession includes the potentially high-impact Wahoo and Cabrilla prospects.

Offshore Indonesia, PGS started acquiring 3D seismic for Premier last month in the Andaman Sea, with the program designed to mature prospects identified on 2D data on the Andaman II license.

In Natuna Sea block A, in Indonesia, development of the Bison, Iguana, Gajah-Puteri gas fields remains on track for first production in 4Q. The project should recover 93 bcf of reserves to sustain contracted gas sales to Singapore.

Premier expects the Tolmount East gas appraisal well in the UK southern North Sea to spud mid-2019, taking around 80 days to complete.

Prior to drilling, 3D seismic acquisition is scheduled across the Greater Tolmount Area. Results should help optimize development drilling on Tolmount East and the location of a potential Tolmount Far East exploration well, as well as uncovering any further prospectivity in the area.

Last August Premier sanctioned the 500-bcfTolmount Main gas development, and construction of the platform started recently at Rosetti Marino’s yard in Ravenna, eastern Italy.

Detailed engineering and procurement of the trees, wellheads, and subsea pipeline is also under way. First gas is targeted for 4Q 2020.
